Can I register a .qa domain if I live outside Qatar? Yes. The .qa domain extension is available to individuals and businesses in Qatar, proof nationality or residency (or a local company CR/trade mark is mandatory as of 22/OCT/2026). The entire process, including registration, payment and domain management, can be completed online through [QHost](https://qhost.qa/). ## 2. Do I need a Qatar ID (QID), Establishment Card or company documents? For standard .qa domain registrations, the following documents are normally required: - Qatar ID (QID) - Establishment Card - Commercial Registration (CR) - Passport or national identity document - Company incorporation certificate Customers must provide accurate registration and contact information during checkout. Additional identity or business verification may occasionally be requested for fraud prevention, security, regulatory compliance or domain ownership verification. Is DNS management included with my domain? Every .qa domain registered through QHost includes the ability to manage its nameservers. You can point your domain to external DNS providers or hosting services without purchasing hosting from QHost. If you want to create and edit individual DNS records directly through QHost, including A, AAAA, CNAME, MX and TXT records, our optional DNS Management add-on is available for QAR 29 per year. No. You can register a .qa domain without purchasing website hosting, email hosting or any other service. Is my personal information publicly visible in WHOIS searches? The Qatar Domains Registry determines which information is publicly displayed through its WHOIS service. Can I register a .qa domain under my company name? Yes. A domain may be registered under an eligible legal entity using its correct registered company name and contact details. The registrant recorded in the domain registration data is the registered domain holder, subject to applicable Registry policies and registration terms. QHost acts as the accredited registrar and provides the tools needed to administer the domain. Through your client account, you can: - View and renew your domain. - Manage nameservers. - Update permitted contact information. - Manage DNS records when the relevant service is enabled. - Request assistance with ownership updates. - Initiate transfers subject to applicable Registry policies. We strongly recommend keeping your account email address accurate and renewing your domain before its expiry date. ## 12. What happens if my domain expires? If a .qa domain is not renewed by its expiry date, associated services may stop functioning. Depending on the domain's lifecycle status and Registry policy, it may become eligible for restoration, deletion or subsequent registration by another party. Additional charges may apply if restoration is available and required. To avoid service interruption or potential loss of your domain, always renew before expiry. ## 13. Can I cancel a domain registration or request a refund? Domain registrations are subject to QHost's applicable cancellation and refund policies. Eligible .qa registration cancellation requests made within three calendar days may qualify for a refund, subject to policy conditions and a QAR 50 processing deduction plus applicable tax. Outside the eligible cancellation period, registration and renewal fees are generally non-refundable. Please consult the current refund policy before submitting a cancellation request. Please note that such requests are processed during normal working hours only. ## 14. How does QHost handle registration information and identity documents? QHost processes domain registration information for purposes including domain administration, customer support, billing, security and regulatory compliance. Identity documents are not ordinarily required for standard .qa registrations.
